How to Access Training Through APCO Institute

APCO Canada has a reciprocity agreement with APCO International allowing our membership access to Institute courses and discounts.  However, because our APCO International (and the Institute) brothers and sisters are governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we can't simply provide them with a copy of our membership list to validate requests from Canadian members.  

Course lists may be found at the Institute Online.

The following are the verification processes that will allow the US to remain GDPR compliant and provide APCO Canada members with a training discount:

  1. Our APCO Canada member emails our Membership Committee at to obtain verification of current membership number and expiry date.
  2. The Membership Committee representative replies via email to APCO Canada member confirming in the message that the member is, indeed, a current member.
  3. The APCO Canada member then forwards the email to the Institute (, stating the course(s) in which the member wishes to enroll.
  4. An Institute staff member will then reach out to the APCO Canada member to provide information on how to register for the course(s) and explain how the discount will be applied to their registration.

NOTE:  You may also print a copy of your interim membership card, bypassing Step 1 and Step 2. To view your temporary member card and retrieve your Membership ID:

  1. Log into your APCO Canada member account at
  2. Click on your name at the top right and choose 'Account + Settings' from the dropdown menu,
  3. Select 'Payment & History' from the choices along the left,
  4. Choose the 'Membership' tab along the top.

The Membership tab has a button to display your temporary member card.  This card shows your APCO Canada Membership ID and your membership's expiry date.

Note:  Some membership types (e.g. group memberships) will not display the temporary membership card.  We are working with our vendor to rectify that.  If the above directions to not work for you, please email for your Membership ID and expiry date.
